Ever since my schedule has changed to no longer revolve around the typical 9-5 work week, Fridays have taken on such a new meaning. It has become a date marker, reminding me that 5 week days have passed and that I should have accomplished something creatively productive throughout the week. At times, I am too close to the work I do that it is not necessarily evident. Until I make a point to flip through all the scrawlings and drawings I've done, I don't feel like I've made a dent in the week at all. I notice those in my social networks celebrating the end of the week after 5 days of hard work (or drudgery as some may have called it) rewarded by that steady and regular paycheck, a company outing, or a pat on the back from the boss saying, "Well done." In leu of that, I am constantly searching for ways to reward my hard work, focus, and persistence. Many times, that has to come from within and many times, that reward gets postponed or overlooked. For now, my art in itself, accompanied by the words of encouragement from friends and family are what keep me pushing forward.

You are fantastic! And happy Friday. It is hard to keep track when you don't have a conventional schedule. I always think I'm not making much.
